Lebohang Monyatsi is inspirational in many ways, but the most remarkable one is how she has overcome her disability to carve herself into the annals of history.
She is already the first ever runway model on a wheelchair in her home country of South Africa and in Africa.
She was also a finalist for Face of the Globe 2017, the one and only finalist with a disability.
Lebohang is now set to represent South Africa at Miss Wheelchair World contest in Warsaw, Poland in October.
The beauty queen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Psychology and is studying for a Bachelor of Communication Sciences degree.
In addition to participating in international beauty pageants, Lebohang has also represented South Africa in wheelchair basketball competitions around the world.
In an interview, she said she is passionate about promoting inclusion of people with disabilities. She said: “The main goal is to break the stereotypes associated with people with disabilities in the fashion/entertainment industry and to pave the way for those to follow and succeed me.”
Keep doing it, Lebohang! You’re an inspiration to many.
